Why “LA Rise Again” Anthem? 🎶
When the devastating fires swept through Los Angeles and Altadena, America's Got Talent finalist Lawrence Beamen felt called to action. Together with songwriters Jeff Pollock and Peter Sammel, Beamen transformed their existing song "London Bridge" into a powerful anthem of hope and resilience for communities in crisis.
"This song was created to tell the people of LA and Altadena they will rise again," says Beamen. "It's for those willing and able to give back – to pick up their brick and build love, joy, peace, and most of all, humanity."
The collaboration began with a simple phone call. After witnessing the destruction, Lawrence reached out to Jeff with an idea: "Man, maybe we should change up the lyrics to London Bridge to Los Angeles will 'Rise Again.'" What started as a conversation between friends quickly evolved into a movement with purpose.
A Message of Unity in Crisis
"We gotta come together, we gotta come around. So good at flying solo, we gotta find our common ground."
In times when "clouds of smoke block the sun" and it becomes "hard to see the light," Beamen's message is clear: “Instead of throwing stones, let's use them to re-build.”
More Than Music: A Movement for Rebuilding
Lawrence Beamen is committed to turning this musical message into tangible support for affected communities. A portion of all streaming proceeds from "LA Rise Again" will be donated directly to rebuilding efforts in Los Angeles and Altadena.
Beamen is actively coordinating with local officials to organize fundraising events where he can perform the song live and help mobilize community support. His message to rebuild extends beyond lyrics – he's available to participate in benefit concerts, community gatherings, and official rebuilding initiatives.
The song culminates in a powerful call to action that encapsulates Beamen's vision for community restoration:
Pick up your brick and build love, Pick up your brick and build peace Pick up your brick and build joy And love on humanity It is our destiny to live in community.
